What is Mobile Deposit?
Mobile Deposit is an easy way to deposit checks into your checking, savings, or money market account using the CSB Mobile app on supported Apple® and Android devices. Other commonly used terms for mobile deposit are "mobile check deposit," "remote deposit" or "remote deposit capture."

Mobile Deposit lets you submit photos of the front and back of your endorsed check so you can make a deposit from anywhere.

Who can use Mobile Deposit?
Cumberland Security Bank Mobile Banking customers who maintain an eligible account (any personal checking, savings or money market account) and who have accepted the Mobile Deposit Terms and Conditions are eligible to use Mobile Deposit.

How do I get Mobile Deposit?
To use Mobile Deposit, you simply need to download and install the CSB Mobile app to your Android smartphone, iPhone or iPad. If you already have our app, update it to the most current version to ensure this feature is available.

In the main menu of the app, select Deposits. You will be prompted to accept our terms and conditions the first time you use the service.

How does Mobile Deposit work?
Sign in to your CSB Mobile app, and then follow these simple steps:
  1. Select the Deposit function.
  2. Choose the account where you want to deposit your check.
  3. Enter the check amount.
  4. Make sure your check is endorsed with the words "For Mobile Deposit Only" and your signature.
  5. Take a picture of the front and back of your endorsed check with your mobile device. For photos that work best, follow these guidelines:
    • Place your check on a dark-colored, plain surface that is well lit
    • Position your camera directly over the check (not at an angle)
    • Fit all 4 corners in the guides of your mobile device's camera screen
  6. Submit your deposit.
You will receive a confirmation message on your mobile device for each successful deposit. If the check is ineligible for mobile deposit, you will receive a rejection message.

Each check is considered a separate deposit. You can make multiple deposits in a single mobile session.

What types of accounts are eligible?
You can use Mobile Deposit to deposit into checking, savings or money market accounts.

Are there any types of checks that are not accepted?
Cumberland Security Bank will not accept the following check types through this service:
  • Third party checks
  • Altered checks
  • Checks payable jointly, unless deposited into an account in the name of all payees.
  • Returned checks
  • Checks in a foreign currency or drawn on a foreign bank
  • Stale-dated checks (generally, checks dated more than 6 months prior to the date of deposit)
  • Traveler's checks, money orders or other bank official checks.
  • Checks not endorsed with "For Mobile Deposit Only" and your signature
  • Checks that have previously been deposited in person or through a mobile deposit capture service offered at any other financial institution.
  • Checks or items that are drawn or otherwise issued by the U.S. Treasury Department
Do I need to endorse my check?
Yes. In order for your deposit to be approved, you must endorse it with the words "For Mobile Deposit Only" and your signature.

Are there restrictions on the amount of money that can be deposited?
Yes, there is a $10,000 daily total limit.

What should I do with the check after I complete my deposit?
Securely store your check for 14 days after your deposit has been posted to your account, and then destroy it. This allows sufficient time in case the original check is required for any reason.

You are responsible if an original check is misused following submission by mobile deposit.

When will I have access to my funds?
Generally, deposits submitted on a business day prior to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time and determined to be in good order will be posted that day. Check deposits are not processed on Saturdays, Sundays, or bank holidays. Funds deposited may not be available for immediate withdrawal and will be available based upon the Funds Availability disclosure that you received at account opening.

I completed a deposit but I don't see it in my account history. What should I do?
Check the deposit history list on the Deposits screen of the app. Deposits listed with a status of "Check Received" or "In Process" are under review. A status of "Rejected" indicates an issue with your deposit.

What if my check is not accepted?
The following issues may prevent a check from being accepted once the photo is taken:


What should I do if my deposit is rejected?
If we reject your deposit for any reason, you will not be able to re-submit it through Mobile Deposit. You will need to visit one of our branches and deposit it in person.

What devices can be used with Mobile Deposit?
Mobile Deposit is available only through the CSB Mobile app, which is available for iPhone, iPad and Android devices.

Is there a cost to deposit my check with Mobile Deposit?
There are no fees for depositing a check through Mobile Deposit.

Is there a limit on the number of checks I can deposit?
No, there is no limit on the number of checks you can deposit.

What are the cut-off times for deposits made with Mobile Deposit?
Checks deposited Monday-Friday before 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time will be credited to your account on the same day. All other deposits will be credited to your account on our next business day.

When will my mobile deposit be available?
If an image of an item you transmit through Mobile Deposit is received and accepted before 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on a business day that we are open, we consider that day to be the day of your deposit. Otherwise, we will consider that the deposit was made on the next business day we are open. Funds deposited may not be available for immediate withdrawal and will be available based upon the Funds Availability disclosure that you received at account opening.

How will I know if there's a problem with my mobile deposit after I submit it?
Once a deposit is submitted, the CSB Mobile app will display its status as it moves through the deposit review and approval process.
